Individual Therapy

We all have the innate ability to heal, and choosing to develop a therapeutic relationship and process life stressors and difficulties of your past can facilitate great change. Therapy doesn’t have to only focus on “presenting problems” and issues, but also what is going RIGHT in your life and tapping into your strengths to develop internal growth and personal development.

Therapy isn’t just for those that have mental health struggles. If you are a human being, you have suffered in some way and have some stressor to work through. We all need to work on ourselves, so truly anyone can benefit.

I believe developing insight into your how your past impacts current patterns, exploring difficult emotions, and focusing on how to move forward and find solutions in the present are the best combination.

Trauma, attachment ruptures, unmet needs, and other life experiences impact how we think and act and we will uncover if that has played a role in your current life. We will look at the defenses and unhelpful ways you’ve been coping and find new ways to regulate your emotions, tolerate discomfort, and manage your mental health.

In your first session, we will develop an individualized treatment plan together and prioritize goals that serve your needs and assess frequency (usually weekly sessions, twice a week if clinically needed). Sessions are typically 50 minutes, though we can discuss that further.

Whether it’s through incorporating EMDR, DBT/CBT, holistic practices, trauma recovery and somatic work, mindfulness, attachment focused or several approaches at once- we will develop trust, openness, and foster growth together. The therapeutic relationship is the core of the work regardless of training and approach, so my priority is developing a safe and trusting space together.

I will support you in looking at why your patterns or symptoms are present, identify the root cause, work on healing experiences from the past, AND work on strategies to cope and move forward in the present.

Welcome To Your First Step In Healing!

My offerings include..

Group Therapy

Human beings are wired for connection and often experience feelings of loneliness or isolation in their struggle. Group therapy can help to connect you with others that are experiencing similar difficulties. It is validating to know you are not alone. Group work can also support you around development of skills, coping strategies, and overall psycho-education on mental health and wellbeing.

Parent Support

Parenting can be extremely hard. You are trying to keep up with all of the stressors thrown at you, balancing work life, all while trying to take care of your child and keep up with your own mental health at the same time.

It can feel extremely scary to watch your teen or young adult child struggle and the best thing you can do is to get them the help and support needed.

When it comes to working with your teen, I will set up sessions every 4-6 weeks depending on clinical need to discuss your teens therapeutic progress, provide parent coaching, and hold the space to hear whats going on for you through this process.

When you ask your teen to do the work in therapy, it is important you model that behavior and open yourself to work on you and your relationship with your teen as well. I will offer joint sessions if your teen is open to it, to address whats going on in the family system and discuss things as a team.

If you are the client and in need of weekly sessions, choosing to show up for yourself through therapy is ultimately going to make you the best parent and strengthen the relationship with your kids and yourself. It teaches your child that you care about bettering yourself and no parent is perfect, we could all use improvement!
