My style is warm, relational, and holistic - grounded in the belief that healing happens through connection, safety, and attunement. The relationship between us is very important to me as it creating a space where you can open up and be your authentic self. I’m not a “blank stare, listen, and nod” therapist - I am human and will participate in the conversation!
I integrate trauma-informed modalities like EMDR, somatic practices, and mindfulness skills to help you reconnect with your body, your needs, and your emotions. Learn more about how I work and what makes my approach different.

I work with adults of all ages (living in NY, DC, MD, & NJ) who look like they have it all together on the outside - but feel overwhelmed, anxious, or disconnected on the inside.
Many of my clients are high-anxiety, deeply caring, and exhausted from years of people-pleasing, perfectionism, or carrying the emotional weight of others. Some are navigating trauma, burnout, or codependent patterns in relationships.
Some may also struggle with ADHD, executive functioning challenges, and disordered eating habits, or have an interest in sober curiosity or going alcohol-free.
If you’re ready to stop just surviving and start feeling more grounded, I’m here to help.

Our work starts with a foundation in relational talk therapy - a warm, attuned space where you can feel seen, heard, and emotionally safe.
From there, I integrate holistic, body based, trauma-informed, and nervous system evidence based healing tools that support deeper healing beyond just talking. So we can support healing at the root — not just symptom management.
This might include EMDR to process trauma, somatic practices to reconnect with your body, or mindfulness to help you regulate and reflect with more self-compassion.
Therapy with me is always collaborative and tailored to your needs.

Starting therapy doesn’t have to feel intimidating! First, we’ll have a free 15-minute phone consultation to talk about what you’re looking for and see if we’re a good fit.
From there, we’ll schedule an online intake session - a 50-minute space to dive deeper into what’s bringing you in, get some history, and to discuss intentions around what you’re hoping to get out of therapy. I will always answer any questions you have for me and the therapy process!
Ongoing sessions are 50 minutes and held weekly via secure HIPPA-compliant video platform. IF you are in NYC and would like to come in-person here and there, I do have an office space in the financial district I go to one day a month. Therapy is a commitment - however if you are feeling like over time you’re hitting the goals you came in with and no longer need weekly, we can mutually discuss dropping to bi-weekly sessions.
Therapy is a collaborative space where we move at your pace — whether we’re exploring past experiences, processing trauma through EMDR, or building tools to manage anxiety and burnout in the present. You don’t have to have it all figured out. I’ll meet you where you are :)

Hi! Im Alyssa.
I look forward to getting to know you and connecting!
Hi, I’m Alyssa - a licensed holistic trauma therapist and EMDR practitioner serving adults online in New York, New Jersey, DC, and Maryland. I specialize in working with people who look like they have it all together on the outside but feel overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck in survival mode on the inside.
My approach is relational, holistic, and trauma-informed. I’ll always meet you with warmth, honesty, and care - whether we’re exploring patterns that no longer serve you, processing trauma, identifying attachment wounds, or learning how to listen to your body again. This work is deeper than managing symptoms and finding coping skills - we will also look at the root causes of what’s going on so you can make deep, long lasting change.
Together, we’ll move at your pace. There’s no pressure to perform, no expectation to be “healed” overnight. Just a steady, supportive space to explore what’s been weighing on you and what it might feel like to finally let some of that go.
Is this fit right for you?

FAQs

Nope. You don’t need to be in crisis or have everything figured out. Many of my clients come in feeling overwhelmed, burnt out, or stuck - unsure of where to begin. That’s okay. We’ll start wherever you are.

The free 15-minute phone consult is just a chance for us to briefly connect, talk about what you're looking for, and see if we feel like a good fit. The intake is our first full 50-minute session where we’ll go deeper into your history, what’s bringing you in, and what you’d like to focus on in therapy.
-
That’s more common than you’d think - and totally okay. You don’t need to come in with a list. Sometimes we’ll explore what’s happening in the moment, sometimes we’ll work with deeper patterns or use EMDR or somatic tools to process stuck emotions. I’ll guide you.

Yes - research shows that online therapy is just as effective as in-person therapy for many people. Including EMDR!
And for clients navigating anxiety, trauma, or burnout, being able to access support from the comfort of your own space can actually make it easier to open up and regulate during sessions.
If you do want to see me in person once in a while, I offer one day a month sessions in the financial district of NYC!

Most online therapy sessions are 50 minutes long and held once a week. Weekly sessions help us build trust, maintain momentum, and go deeper into the patterns and challenges you're facing.
Depending on your needs, we might shift to biweekly over time - but we’ll decide that together.
If you're wondering how often you should go to therapy, there’s no one-size-fits-all answer - but starting weekly is typically the most effective for creating meaningful and lasting change. And the length can last anywhere from 6 month to several years.
Because of the relational nature and the deep work we are doing - my weekly therapy sessions are longer term. If you are interested in shorter term therapy more focused on specific goals and faster change - I do offer intensives.
